Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to use his “magic hand” to make Tony Nwoye of the All Progressive Peoples Congress (APC) emerge governor of Anambra state.

Okorocha said this on Wednesday, Nov. 15, while addressing party faithful and non-party members in Awka at the grand finale campaign of the APC candidate for Anambra governorship election scheduled to hold on Saturday, Nov. 18.

As part of Buhari’s official visit to the south-east, he led the APC’s campaign rally in Anambra alongside 12 governors, 18 ministers, National Assembly members and other party big wigs.

In his remarks, Okorocha said President Buhari’s visit to the South-east especially Anambra, was to extend a hand of fellowship to the people and to fix the political bridge that links the centre to the region.

“I see your visit as not only to campaign for Tony Nwoye but to extend your hand of fellowship to the people of the South-east.

“It is indeed a turning point; be rest assured that Igbos love you,” he said.

Okorocha noted stated that there was nothing wrong with other candidates contesting the poll, but noted that Tony Nwoye’s victory would ensure that the political bridge between the centre and the region was fixed. Hear him:

“The way you brought these people, use that same hand of blessing, the magic hand of Buhari to give us Tony Nwoye. I sat down to search out who you are and to define you but I can’t. The way you turned around the economy of Nigeria, brought us out of recession, use the same magic to give us Nwoye.

“It’s the same manner you went to the hospital and everybody thought you were gone, you came back strong even stronger than before, looking more handsome; give us Tony Nwoye. My president my president, we look up to that day on Saturday when we can come back and raise the hand of this young man.

“Then you’ll see the south-east, the Orji Uzor Kalu, the Nwobodos, the Ken Nnamanis and your ministers, you have people. The only one you should try and check for us, to try and see if you can add something to his height is Ngige because with this height we have a challenge.”

In his address, President Muhammadu Buhari said he hopes the APC will bounce back and get Nwoye elected.

“I’m very impressed with the organisation and the number of people who turned out. We are hoping that the APC bounce back and get our governor elected next Saturday.
