The announcement read:
“NYSC Management regrets to inform you that 2016 Batch ‘A’ Stream II Orientation Course in all states including Adamawa, Borno and Yobe in stream I has been postponed due to logistic reasons. A new date will be communicated to you in due course. Please accept our sincere apologies.”
The Director-General, NYSC, Brig. Gen. Sulyman Kazaure had on Monday May 16, stated that lack of funds may stop the mobilization of 2016 Batch A Stream 2 prospective corps members for camp orientation. According to him, the NYSC had written several letters requesting for the money but that as at Monday, it was yet to receive response from the Federal Government.
The Federal Government had in response released about N13 billion to the body to assist it pay the outstanding allowances of corps members and also proceed with the mobilization of prospective corps members for Batch ‘A’ Stream 2 Orientation Exercise.
The NYSC spokesperson, Mrs. Abosede Aderibigbe, who confirmed the release of the fund on Tuesday in Abuja said:
“The management of the NYSC also wishes to use this medium to inform and assure prospective corps members, parents, guardians and the general public that the 2016 Batch ‘A’ stream II orientation course holds as scheduled from Saturday, May 21 to Monday, June 6, 2016.”

She further stated that the swearing-in ceremony of the 2016 Batch ‘A’ Stream II corps members will hold on Monday, May 23, 2016 and prospective corps members were by the notice directed to print their call up letters online.
“We wish the 2016 Batch ‘A’ (Stream II) corps members successful orientation course and service year,” she added.
