This gentleman was spotted somewhere in Akwa Ibom hawking doughnuts and the way he was dressed caught the attention of a Legal Practitioner and Human Rights Activist, Inibehe Effiong, who shared the photos on Facebook and wrote:
“I don’t know this man from Adam and I do not care the part of the country that he comes from. I am using this platform to celebrate his devotion to his trade and admirable sense of cleanliness. He sells doughnuts around the Uyo metropolis in Akwa Ibom State. Please patronize him anywhere you see him.
“At a time that many Nigerians are seeking white collar jobs, the entrepreneurial spirit of this man deserves commendation. He has by his action given credence to the aphorism that there is dignity in labour. Instead of resorting to crime, he has proudly engaged in this business to cater for himself and his family.
“Anyone that sees this man should kindly connect him with me. I want to support his business with my widow’s mite. If you wish to join me in contributing financially to his business please indicate the amount (no matter how small) in your comment.
“PLEASE SHARE UNTIL IT GETS TO SOMEONE THAT KNOWS THIS MAN.
The post has drawn a lot of attention from people with many ready to assist the man and asking for anyone who can get in touch with himto help them get his contact. This eventually led to his identification. According to a commentator, David Udotong Jr, the man’s name is Mfon. He wrote:
“The Law, thanks for the information. I know him. I just spoke with him this morning after I recognized him from your publication. His name is Mfon; he is a born again Christian.
“He is a 2nd-year student of Political Science Education of the University of Uyo. All what he told me is that ‘I can’t steal and so I decided to use the Dakkada philosophy in AKS. I prepare and hawk doughnuts to support my education and my ailing mom’. I have inboxed you his telephone number.”
Many more people who dropped their comment confirmed that Mr. Mfon was truly a student at the said University and was well known for his excellent command of the English language.
