Good music is synonymous to good vocals, good instrumentation, and good lyrics. Although most Nigerian artistes make good through their nice beats, clarity, and rhythmic singing is very important in music.
Award-winning producer, singer, and songwriter, Florocka emphasizes the importance of singing clearly so listeners can hear every single detail of a song. Music is the expression of thoughts (messages) accompanied by pleasant and rhythmic sounds. So if the message can not be heard, communication has not been achieved.
According to Florocka, most singers sacrifice distinction in words for sweet melodies and that may not be a pre-requisite for timeless music.
The producer, while sharing his knowledge in a video he titled ‘the art of singing,’ warned artistes of the danger of sacrificing being audible for melody, explaining that when singing, an artiste should ensure that he is clear and unambiguous with the lyrics to his songs.
“When you’re singing, the most paramount is for the listener to hear what it is that you’re saying, once the listener cannot hear a single word you’re saying you’ll lose them, and when you lose them that’s it, you’ve lost one audience,” he said.
Florocka has been in the music production business for over 24 years. He has written, co-written, produced and worked with a good number of artists including ‘Midnight Crew’, Áyodele Vincent’, Wale Adenuga, House on the Rock, Sammie Okposo, Mike Abdul, Jedi, Mike Aremu, Tosin Martins, BOUQUI, Kore, ‘Nikki Laoye and more.
The music producer currently runs an academy where he teaches students about Worship, Music, Business Ethics of Music and Spiritual – Governmental positioning in Ministry. He currently has six albums to his name and is open to individual artists recording.
