No one ever said getting married and staying so is easy. Nigerian high-life singer, Flavour N’abania, is aware of this and has become reluctant about marriage because he believes getting married would distract him from achieving his career goals. The institution of marriage is not an easy one to gain admission into and more so, survive through. It’s even more difficult for celebrities, as their career and personal lives tend to clash amidst close scrutiny from media and fans.
Just yesterday, the news of popular singer, Queen of Mavin – Tiwa Savage and her crashing marriage was all over the internet, as her husband and ex-manager, Teebillz, Says its Over! Flavour has probably studied the marriage lives of celebrities and realized that it’s either the marriage works and the career doesn’t, or the career succeeds and the marriage fails. According to the singer “My colleagues careers crash immediately after marriage.”
Although failed marriages is common in the entertainment industry, some celebrities like Joke Silver and Olu Jacobs, Omotola Ekeinde, Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha and a host of others, have been able to sustain their marriage for ten years and above. The younger wives like Mercy Johnson, Uche Jumbo, Omawunmi, Anne Idibia, are still works in progress, however, their marriage so far is having a smooth ride.
According to the father of two who just bagged an endorsement deal with a brewery company, no successful musician can have a good home.
“Most of my colleagues whenever they get married their careers start crashing down. I keep asking people have you ever seen a successful musician having a good home and a good career? It’s not going to be easy you know.“
Marriage, may not be on the singer’s to-do list anytime soon, but having more babies might just be his escape route. Flavour, whose baby mamas are both beauty queens, welcomed his first daughter, Muna, with Sandra Okagbue in 2014, while the second baby, Sophie, was born in August, 2015 by Anna Banner.
The Gollibe singer has been seen more often with the mother of his second daughter, Anna Banner, who won the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria Pageant in 2013. Weeks ago, he shared pictures of him, Anna and baby, during a party he organised for his father in his home town – Enugu. Sadly, Sandra and her daughter were not part of the family celebration.
Flavour also featured Anna Banner in Gollibe video where she played the role of the love of his life who he eventually got married to in an extravagant ceremony. Could this be that Flavour already revealed how his relationship with baby mama number 2 will end? Or she was just another Video vixen.
Meanwhile, the singer has recently been seen in the company of fellow singer, Chidinma Ekile. They have done a couple of songs together which includes, “Oh Baby,” “Ololufe” and the most recent “Mama.” There are a lot of speculations the two might be dating, but Flavour has not affirmed his relationship with her. Anyways, considering his view on marriage, it doesn’t seem like Anna Banner, Sandra Okagbue or Chidinma Ekile will be getting a ring from Flavour anytime soon.
