He was born on 21st August 1976 as the first child into a family of four children; two male and two female. His parents raised him alongside his siblings in Olokodana Street in Ebute-Metta, Lagos State.

Kelvin received both his primary and secondary education in Lagos and then moved to Benin City to further his education. There, he attended the University of Benin (UNIBEN) and graduated with a B.Sc. degree in Economics.

Regardless of being an Igbo boy, the fact that Kelvin spent most parts of his life in the Yoruba-speaking States made him master the Yoruba language. Moreso, the actor is multilingual. According to him, he can speak nine different languages, which include Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo, Benin, Ishan, English language, and others.

Kelvin Ikeduba Started His Acting Journey in 2000

Kelvin joined Nollywood just after he graduated from UNIBEN. He said that the very first time he faced the camera as an actor was in Suitors in 2000. In the movie, he played a cameo role otherwise known as waka-pass, and the lead characters were Kenneth Okonkwo and Pat Attah. Meanwhile, he described his entrance into the industry as a coincidence because, on that very day he got his first role, he only accompanied a friend to an audition.

But on getting to the destination, he decided to audition too and was successful in it. Fortunately, he got a callback and was given a role in Suitors. He performed excellently and got a lead role in his next movie Ogidan produced by Kolade Afolabi. Ever since then, Kelvin has remained consistent in the Nigeria movie industry

He started with English-speaking movies but eventually ventured into the Yoruba movie industry through the help of Femi Ogedengbe, who introduced him to Saheed Balogun.

Shortly, he got his first Yoruba movie role in Omo Alhaja, produced by Saheed Balogun. His popularity in Yoruba movies skyrocketed, and it earned him a Yoruba award.

Given the kind of roles he mostly plays and the look he wears, Kelvin has been tagged as a “bad boy.” He is always the antagonist in most of the movies he features in. He also plays rugged and criminal roles alongside Jim Iyke, Sylvester Madu, Zubby Michael, Emma Ehumadu, Zark Orji, Walter Anger, and others.

Kelvin Ikeduba House and Cars

As much as it is known to the public, the primary source of Kelvin Ikeduba’s wealth comes from his career as an actor and filmmaker. As of 2021, his net worth is pegged at $350,000, which is over N150 million.

Apart from acting, Kelvin does not have any other source of income that is publicly known. A ghetto boy raised in the rugged streets of Ebute-Meta has today become one of the richest entertainers in Nigeria. Nevertheless, the actor is not known to have acquired any enviable property for himself. This is unlike almost all celebrities, who spend a good part of their wealth on living a luxury lifestyle and acquiring houses and cars in their chosen locations.

Even though he is sometimes seen posed beside some luxury cars to take photos, those that claim to be close to him argue that none of the cars is his own. Moreso, some inside sources testify that they even drag cabs together with him every morning while rushing for work.

This seems to have been a matter of concern to most of his fans, considering her popularity and the fact that he is one of the most patronized actors in the Yoruba industry.
