The chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Delta State chapter, Jones Erue, has sent back fire to Kingsley Esiso, the state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman, for blaming the present economic challenges dealing with the country on the APC.
Mr. Kingsley Esiso, referring to the APC’s campaign mantra and its promise to change things when elected into office, said that for about two years now, the country has experienced nothing but negative changes. He made the controversial statement when he hosted the PDP Patriotic Ladies in Asaba on Wednesday, August 10, urging Nigerians to endure till 2019 when the PDP will ‘change the change’.
“They came with the mantra of change that former President Goodluck Jonathan was not doing well but the reverse is now the case. We will endure till 2019 to change the change.”
However, in a swift reaction, Mr. Jones Erue, represented by the deputy chairman of the party, Cyril Ogodo, said at an APC ward executive meeting convened on Thursday, August 11, by a former House of Representative member, Hon Solomon Edoja at Kokori, Delta state, explained that it was completely wrong for anyone to make such utterances against the APC.
“If President Goodluck Jonathan was still in power, fathers would have been selling their children for them to get their daily bread.
“What Esiso should be doing is to ask Governor Ifeanyi Okowa what he did with the N15billion bailout fund received from the federal government since his assumption of office.
“Prior to the 2015 general election, local government workers in the state were owed over 8months salary backlog, was it Buhari too that caused that?
“The PDP stole the country dry and I believe the Delta state PDP chairman is just waking up from his slumber. He needs to go back to bed and wake up to reality”, he said.
