Iranian Messi: Lionel Messi Look Alike Causes Stir In Iran, Gets Arrested By Police
Over the weekend, an Iranian student got arrested and taken to a police station simply because he looks too much like Lionel Messi.
The Iranian Messi is Reza Parastesh.
A lot of Lionel Messi fans in the city of Hamaden want a picture with Reza Parastesh the Iranian Messi.
This happened to the point the police had to take him to the station and impound his car to stop the chaos he was causing.
It all started a few months ago when the Messi lookalike’s dad made him pose in a number 10 Barcelona jersey.
25-year-old Reza Parastesh soon started cutting his hair and grooming his beard like the Argentina forward.
Parastesh told AFP:
“Now people really see me as the Iranian Messi and want me to mimic everything he does.
“When I show up somewhere, people are really shocked.
“I’m really happy that seeing me makes them happy and this happiness gives me a lot of energy.”

Parastesh and his dad sent the pictures off to a sports website, and got an immediate reply asking him to drop in to see them.
“I sent them one night and by the morning they had called me and said I should come in quickly for an interview.”
Despite his early reluctance, Reza soon grew into his new role.
He began cutting his hair like Messi and often sporting the Barca jersey whenever he steps out.
It has paid off as Parastesh is fully booked with media interviews and has even landed modelling contracts.
He also says that he is working on some football tricks so he can play the role better.
