Nigerian rapper and one of the finest artistes of Chocolate City, Ice Prince, has announced that he is moving on to a new record label. Mr. Prince will be releasing his third studio album under his own record label, “Super Cool Cat.” The Oleku rapper has made his name and fame through Chocolate City, which was chaired by him and part owned by Audi Maikori and MI.
In an interview on 96.9 Cool FM’s “Midday Oasis” Show with Dotun and Temi, the rapper revealed that he is no longer signed to Chocolate City, and that his third solo album titled “Jos to the world” will be released under his record label.
Cool FM posted Ice Prince’s announcement on their Twitter page, quoting him as saying, “Officially, my contract with Chocolate City is over – Iceprincezamani #MiddayOasisWithTheWildOnes w/@iamDo2dtun x @Temicoolfm.”
Meanwhile, the song art of Ice Prince’s latest single “Chike”, which featured Korede Bello, do not have the logo of Chocolate City, instead it bears a blue logo portrayed as that of Super Cool Cat record label, alongside Mavin’s logo representing Korede. This confirmed the announcement the ex-Chocolate City act made on Radio about his exit from the label.
According to reports, Ice Prince has been out of contract with Chocolate City for the past three years, but have maintained a cordial relationship with the label. Over the years, he has been working on his personal platform, trying to build his brand before placing it on spotlight. Now he is certainly ready to meet the world as “Ice Prince the Super Cool Cat,” having made the official announcement of the label.
Born as Panshak Zamani, the 29-year old hip hop artiste rose to fame after releasing his hit single “Oleku.” With two studio albums already out, everybody loves Mr. Zamani’s sound and this acceptance by fans has led him to win several notable awards.
