42-Year-Old Kola Ajeyemi Hails from Oyo State, SouthWest Nigeria

Toyin Abraham’s husband, Kola Ajeyemi, is an indigene of Ogbomosho, an ancient town located in Oyo state. He was born and raised there and he apparently had his basic and secondary school education there.

Though not much has been said about his parents, it does appear that the famous actor had fun-filled childhood memories, especially as his father, Ajeyemi, was a renowned Yoruba musician. Kolawole was born into a typical Nigerian middle-class family in the West and he grew up embodying the family values that his parents passed down to him.

There is no information about the level of academic qualification the actor had, but we are quite sure he attended Ogbomosho Grammar School. He also revealed that he never had any formal training in acting.  However, he once attended an acting training some people organized at Ilorin after which he had some training under Segun Ogungbe.

Growing up with a father who was already famous in the entertainment business, Kola began to find his footing in the industry, though not through music, but in acting.  He started off by joining the drama groups in his school and in church and from there, he took part in some stage performances. Apparently, his passion for acting has seen him go through various acting stages.

Having gained basic knowledge in acting, Kola decided to take up acting as a profession. He started by taking up some very minor roles under the tutelage of several movie veterans, including the renowned Yoruba actor and filmmaker Segun Ogungbe.

 Kola’s Career as a Movie Director and Producer

Kola Ajeyemi is also a movie director and producer in Nollywood. He was trained under the guidance of a man called Segun Ogungbe. Segun is an award-winning movie director. He is also the son of legendary actor and filmmaker, Akin Ogungbe. Kola made sure he learned from the very best. He has been directing and producing movies for over 22 years. His directing/producing filmography numbers at least 25 movies in the past 2 decades.

Aside from acting and filmmaking, Kola has launched several other businesses that have helped him in his successful journey. He founded the prestigious Aje Omo Aje School of Performing Arts situated in his Abeokuta hometown, Ogun State. There, he teaches upcoming actors the basics of the art, as is peculiar to the Yoruba people of Nigeria. The actor also owns a fashion business called Kolawole Clothings.                                           

Kola Ajeyemi Married Toyin Abraham in 2019

Ajeyemi grabbed a lot of public attention after he started dating Toyin Abraham. While he only came into the spotlight after his romance with Toyin Abraham began, only her closest friends knew about the relationship at first. Many sources revealed that some of Toyin’s friends who happened to know about his dalliance included Bimpe Akintunde, Iyabo Ojo, Nkechi Blessing Sunday, and Tayo Sobola. 

Their relationship eventually led to marriage as they officially became a couple on the 4th of July 2019. However, this wasn’t the first rodeo for either of them. Kolawole Ajeyemi’s marriage to his co-actor was his second marriage while on the other hand, it was the actress’ third.

Meanwhile, the lovely actress was engaged to Adeniyi Solanke between 2010 and 2011. After their relationship crashed, she and Adeniyi Johnson began dating and were married between 2014 and 2016. Toyin Abraham got engaged to Ajeyemi, her baby daddy, on July 4, 2019. The engagement was done at a private venue in Ibadan, Oyo state. Four years after her second marriage crashed, she hooked up with Kolawole Adeyemi.

Now enjoying their 41 years of marital bliss, Toyin and her husband are parents to their son, Ireoluwa, whom she welcomed in 2015. Kola also has a daughter from his previous marriage named Temitope, whom he is also responsible for and who Toyin has adopted as her own daughter.

Kola and Toyin’s Marriage Has Been Plagued With Multiple Divorce Rumors

The rumors about the breakdown of Toyin Abraham’s marriage started in early 2022 after one of her closest friends got divorced. One of the biggest and most unforgettable scandals of the year happened when Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday and her ex-husband had a nasty fight online, post-divorce. Because of Sunday’s closeness to Toyin, netizens of Twitter automatically assumed that the same fate would also befall Toyin soon.

There were also rumors that Kola himself complained severally about his wife’s “behavior”, saying she didn’t sleep at home and never went to church anymore. However, both Kola and Toyin have come out to debunk the rumors, calling them senseless and unfounded. The couple reiterated their love and commitment to each other and urged their fans to pay no heed to the naysayers.
