Fausat Balogun is 65 years old. She was born on the 13th of February, 1959. She is a Yoruba woman and was born into a middle-class Muslim family living in Lagos, Nigeria. However, she originally hails from a small town called Oke Ode in the Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, Southwestern part of Nigeria.

In 2016, Fausat notably dumped her Islamic faith for Christianity and is currently an evangelist cum actress.

She grew up with her parents and siblings in her home State, Kwara. Much information about her family is not public knowledge. Fausat received her primary and secondary education in Kwara State, but it is not clear whether she furthered to a higher level, as full details of her educational background are not available.

According to Fausat, she developed a passion for acting when a certain theatre group began to use her mother’s shop for rehearsal, this was when she just completed her primary education.

Fausat Balogun’s acting career began at an early age after she finished primary school. She made her first screen appearance as far back as 1975 but only came to public recognition in 1990. She first trained at a Yoruba theatre group known as “Ijamodi” led by the late Mashado located in Lagos Island, Idumota, Lagos.

After that, she gained more experience and training from seasoned film producer Rafiu Balogun, the leader of the Balogun Theater Group. In 1975, Fausat landed her first screen role in the TV series titled Afonja, produced and broadcasted by Nigerian Television Network Authority (NTA).

Not long after that, she landed a bigger role in the television series Abeni Ajagun produced by her husband, then boss. She gained public recognition with the movie, given that it was well received with positive and favorable reviews.

Furthermore, Fausat got involved in the 1990 comedy series, Erin Kee Kee, which later became a fan favorite. Having grown her experience in the movie industry, Madam Saje ventured into production and directing. The first movie she produced was titled Alaroke, directed by the late Prince Alade Aromire. Fausat Balogun’s Family Life with Husband and Children

Actress Fausat is married to her former boss, actor, and producer, Rafiu Balogun. She met her husband in Nollywood, and they got married when she was 18. According to the actress, she never knew she was going to marry her boss because there was a time her group, which was led by Rafiu, disbanded.

The group members that left persuaded her to join them, but she refused and was the only one that stood by him. So, according to her, she felt Rafiu fell in love with her because of that. Subsequently, she acted in a TV series as Iya Ojo, her boss’s wife. After the series, they became friends, then lovers, and the rest became history.

The couple tied the knot in 1979, making their marriage to be 45 years old. Revealing the secret of her long-lasting marriage, actress Fausat Balogun said that she has remained submissive to her husband even when things are not going well enough. She went on to reiterate that many marriages do not last again because many women want to ‘belong’ and do what others are doing.

Their Union Produced Two Children

Fausat Balogun and her husband Rafiu Balogun are blessed with two children; a son and a daughter. Their names are Afeez Balogun and Bintu Balogun, and they are also following in their parent’s footsteps in entertainment. The actress once revealed that by the time she gained fame, her children were already all grown.

Her first child and son, Afeez Adio, who is a carbon copy of his father, is a film director, while her daughter, Bintu, is an actress, producer, and fashion designer. Bintu is still a rising star in the industry and has acted in a few Yoruba movies, including Owo Gbewiri, Olododo, Iwa, Oro Idile, Karunwi, Ekundayo, Egungun, etc. She is married with three lovely children, making Fausat and Rafiu Balogun proud grandparents.
