See Ex-President Obasanjo Wear Made In Aba Shoes

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has taken delivery of pairs of made in Aba shoes which he ordered through Governor Ikpeazu of Abia state.

At the 2016 Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Forum in Lagos, Obasanjo ordered for made in Aba shoes, via Governor Ikpeazu, who is also the “Chief Marketing Officer” of Made-in-Aba goods.

While delivering the shoes to Obasanjo at his Hilltop Mansion home in Ogun State, Governor Ikpeazu said as promoters of made in Aba products, they took it upon themselves to promote made in Aba goods by wearing them and by telling others about them.

Gov. Ikpeazu said the shoes including the ones he [Ikpeazu] was wearing were all made by his people in Aba and would be pleasing if Obasanjo wears them and tell others about them.

Chief Olusegun Obasanjo said the gesture was very significant in many ways as anybody watching, no matter how high or low, who wants to help Nigeria get out of recession will quickly call the makers of the shoes in Aba for theirs.

Hear him; “When we use what we make by ourselves for ourselves, others will simply join us in using them because we are proud of them”.

He also disclosed that the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) which is spearheading made in Africa goods, came during their annual meeting, saying they had heard so much about Aba, and asked for a contact with Governor Ikpeazu so they can come back and pay a special visit to Aba.

According to the former President, Afreximbank had plans to establish an industrial park in Aba to encourage production and exportation of goods made in Africa.
