Everything You Should Know About Eve Esin’s Biography and Acting Successes

Eve Esin (born 17th October 1986), famously known as Kokomma, is an award-winning Nigerian actress from Oron Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. She is known for her roles in several films such as Gallant Babes (2011), Idemili (2014), and Blue (2019) among others.

The seasoned actress came into the Nigerian film industry (Nollywood) in 2008 following a successful audition for a movie. With a degree in Theater Arts from the University of Calabar, Eve followed her passion of being an actress. However, some reports have it that she had previously ventured into the banking industry before tracing her steps back to the movie industry. That notwithstanding, she has become incredibly successful in her acting career.

Actress Eve Esin Had A Regular Childhood

Born and bred in Akwa Ibom, Evelyn had an ordinary childhood. She attended primary school in her hometown and proceeded to Immaculate Conception secondary school, Itak Ikono, where she obtained her West African Senior School Certificate. More so, she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Calabar.

Not much is known about Esin’s parents or siblings. She has managed (to a large extent) to keep her family life away from social media as there is very little information so far on who her parents are or where they are.

But once, during a social media countdown on Nigerian celebrities who bought cars/houses for their parents in 2020, Eve Esin’s name came up as number 4. There it was stated that she built a house in memory of her “late” mother.

An Instagram post was also displayed where she uploaded a picture of her and her late mum at what looked like a school social gathering, along with a heartfelt message, where she addressed her mum as Mrs. Mary Patrick Esin, she spoke on how she misses her.

Judging by the Instagram post, Eve’s mother was probably a chartered accountant. As for her father, we have not been able to lay hands on any information on his whereabouts.

There has also been little to no reference about Esin’s siblings, and we do not know if she is an only child or if she has any siblings.

She Made Her Way Into Nollywood In 2008

The talented actress officially joined Nollywood in 2008 and has since featured in more than a hundred movies. Some of her best works (in no particular order) include:

Known for taking up daring roles and going through massive transformations for movie roles, Eve has done quite well for herself. She has been commended for scraping her hair, going completely bald for some movie roles. There was a time she also had a live python draped around her neck for a movie called “Idemili,” a role Evelyn said was one of her most challenging.

Her Awards and Achievements

Considering her achievements in her career over the years, she has obtained various awards and recognitions within Nigeria and all around Africa. Some of these awards are in the following categories:

  • Most promising actress in Nigeria (City people Entertainment Award)

Like many other prominent actors in Nigeria, Eve has also ventured into movie production. Notable among Nollywood actors who are also producers are Genevieve Nnaji, Desmond Elliot, Ramsey Nouah, and a host of others.

In recent times, precisely in 2016, some reports say she had been working on her first film as a producer. The movie, titled “The Spirits,” also features Esin as one of the actors alongside other well-known Nollywood actors like Ngozi Ezeonu and Mary Igwe. The movie was said to have premiered in Lagos.

Eve Esin Has Got Lucrative Endorsement Deals

Considering the dwindling nature of the Nigerian economy, Nigerian celebrities have opted for multiple streams of income, and Esin is definitely not taking the back seat in this regard. She is seen advertising a range of products and services for different brands.

Even on her social media handles, she has videos where she speaks about these products. The products range from skincare, weight loss, and even sex enhancement therapies. Here are a few of the brands she has represented, some of which are ongoing contracts:

  • U-Slay Assembly (sex enhancement products)
  • Miss Earth Liberia (a beauty pageant show where she served as a judge)

A Peek Into Eve Esin’s Puzzling Personal Life

Sometime in January 2020, she announced through her social media handle that she was engaged. Eve uploaded a picture showing a beautiful ring and the caption that read “Taken.”

However, she kept her fiancé’s identity hidden and did not give any details on when the wedding would occur. It’s been a few months down the line, and we haven’t heard if there would be a wedding or not.

In January 2020, Eve came under serious social media backlash when she posted a picture of herself licking the face of a newly married Nollywood actor, Stanley Igboanugo. However, she seemed unrattled by the attacks, claiming she was enjoying the privilege of being on set.

During her birthday in October 2020, she posted some photos that left tongues wagging. Although there was no one in the pictures to suggest being her significant other, she seemed so content and grateful to be able to celebrate yet another birthday. With this and a lot more, she leaves us wondering when and if she will end up tying the knot with her “mystery man” any time soon.

Meanwhile, sometime in April 2021, she posted a picture of herself looking heavily pregnant, and though we do not know yet who the father is, we cannot help but wonder if it is her fiancé. She has also managed to keep away from commenting on issues that could lead to drama.

Eve Esin was once accused of husband snatching by the ex-wife of movie producer Chijioke Nneji. The actress was reported to have kept mum on the issues, and it was only the man she was alleged to have snatched that ended up making comments on the matter.

She keeps on living her life as she attends functions and events in solidarity with other Nollywood stars. She was among the guests at Ngozi Ezeonu’s daughter’s wedding back in February 2020.
