Latest information on the 14-years-old Bayelsa girl, Ese Rita Oruru, who was abducted by Yunusa Dahiru, aka Yellow, but rescued by the Police in Kano, has revealed that she is about 5 months pregnant.
The teenager was reported to be evidently pregnant despite an attempt to hide her bulgy stomach with the white Hijab dress she wore on her arrival from Kano on Tuesday, according to Vanguard citing very reliable sources.
Sources made it known that it was the discovery of Ese’s condition by police authority that prompted the IGP, Solomon Arase, to issue a directive that the girl should be handed over to the Gender and Child Protection Unit and later, a team from the Medical Department of the police Force to carry out a comprehensive medical examination of the girl at the Police Medical Facility in Area 1, Garki.
Upon certifying her medical condition and emotional state, the Inspector General of Police was uncomfortable with the transportation arrangement made by Ese’s mother that they return by road and consequently cancelled the arrangement and ordered that both Ese and her mother be transported to Yenagoa by air.
Although the news making rounds says that Ese was kidnapped, the girl has said that she followed her abductor of her own volition. As she said in a recording obtained by Premium Times,
No. I am not abducted by anybody. My name is Aisha Chuwas. I am 17-year-old. I came here to be a Muslim and I will stay here.
Ese’s parents have however maintained that she is 14-years-old despite her claim to be 17. Meanwhile, the age of her abductor is still in dispute.
The teenager, Ese Rita Oruru has been reunited with her mother and returned to Bayelsa by air yesterday, March 3, 2016.
