Another Enugu Community In Panic Over Rumoured Herdsmen Attack

A native of Nze community, Udi Local Goverment Area of Enugu State, has sent a terrifying message obtained by Daily Post, to inform the residents of the community of the impending bloody invasion of the area by the so-called Fulani herdsmen last night (Thursday).

The message has aroused confusion and panic in Nze community, and the people were fleeing for their dear lives to other neighboring towns. It was a crystal clear report which reads:

“I just received a frightening report that Fulani herdsmen have planned to invade my community, Nze in Udi Local Government Area.

“I therefore call on the Police in Enugu State to rise up to this grave security challenge to avert a repeat of Ukpabi Nimbo. My community is deserted, as women, children and the elderly have been moved to Enugu and neighboring communities of Aku, Affa and Egede.

“Am deeply pained by this terrible news and urge all Nigerians to stand with my people in prayers and defence of our land.”

When contacted on phone the messenger said,

“I heard they had some issues with farmers in Udi recently over their cows, and based on that, they have vowed to launch similar attack as they did in Nimbo.

“As I speak to you, every person in my family compound has fled the community; I can’t even reach them.”

Further inquiries by correspondents sited another resident who said:

“One Fulani man simply identified as Shimo who is terrorizing the whole of Udi North is well known and connected with the ninth mile police station.

“He boasts that he had lived over forty years in Enugu State and that he cannot live any other place. The activities of his boys are over becoming. They indulge in rape, physical attack and destruction of farm lands.

“My people no longer go to farm. The whole village is totally deserted.

“The DPO 9th mile has visited my town today, (Thursday) with a promise to ensure protection of lives and properties.

“A meeting has been scheduled for tomorrow, (today) between the police, the communities, Alhaji Shimo and his children, who were alleged to have made the threat call. I pray that it won’t go the usual way of ‘police is on top of the situation.'”

“The community vigilante groups are very helpless as they are ill equipped to stand face to face with someone with AK47. Government should please help us and take care of Alhaji Shimo and his boys. They are not spirits. We know them”, he concluded.
