Where Is Dorcas Fapson From?

Dorcas Shola Fapson was born on January 4, 1991, in Tottenham in the United Kingdom, and grew up in North London. She has an older brother who was born in Nigeria in 1989 before her parents moved abroad.

Her mother, Mrs. Ruth Oluyemisi Fapohunda, was from a wealthy home, while her father who was born in 1962 could not afford the luxury of life. However, the couple managed to relocate to the United Kingdom in the quest for a better life.

Their relocation came with challenges as they did not have the required immigration papers. Yet, they lasted several years without facing the law. The family struggled with finances and Dorcas’ father had to street hawk, drive cabs, and work as a night security guard to make ends meet and care for his family.

Amidst the struggle and not possessing the required document to be in the United Kingdom, her mother was deported when Dorcas was only 2 years old. This forced the actress to grow up without her mother.

Also, Dorcas’ parents were involved in a messy divorce around 1993/1994 after her mother returned to Nigeria. The divorce led to her father closing all communication between mother and children. Dorcas grew up hating her mother because her father had told her that her mother abandoned them to return to Nigeria. Unfortunately, the actress only met her mother once after returning to Nigeria in 2005 before her mum died in childbirth

She Had a Difficult Childhood and Went to School in 3 Countries

Dorcas dealt with growing up in the slums of London. She also had to deal with a rough and violent lifestyle and would also often get herself in fights while attending school in the UK where she was residing with her father and brother.

Along the line, misbehavior got her kicked out of school. This led to her missing school for about a year before she and her brother were sent back to Nigeria to live with extended family and attend school.

In Nigeria, the Shuga actress attended United Missionary Comprehensive College in Ibadan, Oyo State. After a while, she had to change schools because she kept picking up fights with students.

Dorcas Fapson went on to attend Wisdom Gate High School in Ikeja, Lagos. After her mother’s death, she returned to London to continue schooling.

While in London, she attended the University of Bedfordshire to study Criminology. Afterward, she went to the American Musical & Dramatic Academy in New York on a full scholarship.

How Dorcas Shola Fapson Became Famous

DSF already dreamt of becoming an actress but it was not until she moved to the United States that she had the opportunity. While in the country, she got to know about the Shuga series audition from her agent in London who encouraged her to try it out since it was on an international front.

Her breakthrough came when Biyi Bandele, the director of the series called to invite her out to Nigeria for filming a few days after she sent a self-made tape sample of her skill.

Her appearance in series 3 of MTV’s Shuga soap opera which was shot in 2013 got her a place in the acting world. It also became the beginning of her journey to stardom as it opened the door for several other roles and career pursuits.

Before the glitz and glamour, however, she was cast as a lead role to play “Aunty Funke” in Oliva Tweest at the first Afrobeats Musical in London‘s West End Lyric Theatre.

In 2017, she got a role in the multi-award-winning Banana Island Ghost. The movie, which serves as her first movie ever, had the likes of top Nollywood stars such as Ali Nuhu, Damilola Adegbite, Bimbo Ademoye, Uche Jombo, Tina Mba, Akah Nnani, and a host of others.

She has gone on to act in other movies such as Man of God (2022) which got 2 wins and 7 nominations at the African Movie Academy Awards in 2022. Dorcas was nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for the movie.

Dorcas Shola Fapson Has a Thriving Career as a Beauty Enthusiast and School Owner

Dorcas Fapson owns a school called Holy-Way Montessori School (Creche, Nursery, and Primary Schools) in Abule-Egba, Lagos State. The school was initially her mother’s but was left in her name and care after her mother’s passing.

As part of her intent to help the growth of youth around her, Dorcas intends to mentor the young, especially girls both in Nigeria and in London.

She also plans to launch a rehabilitation center sometime in the future for young offenders where they can build up skills in several crafts and sportsmanship.

Dorcas Shola Fapson’s Height and Body Measurement

Dorcas Shola Fapson’s listed height is 5 feet 6 inches (1.67m). At this height, she is about 4 inches taller than average Nigerian women who reportedly stand at 5 feet 4 inches tall. Although her height may seem remarkable, it may not necessarily serve as a career boost since being a DJ or an actress does not require a particular height. Nonetheless, when roles are specified for taller women, she may not be at an advantage.

Whatever the case, and looking at it from an international career point, statistics have shown that actors of average height get more roles. Also, one thing that is often considered when casting actors for romantic roles is that the woman is mostly shorter while the male actors are mostly taller. With this, she may have to appear in romantic films with taller men.

Away from her height, the actress’ body weight appears to be just right for her height even though we do not know exactly what she weighs. While she may not be excessively curvy, she is shapely and may be described as having an hourglass body. Her burst and hips seem proportionate while her waist is slimmer.

All About Her Relationships and Rape Case

Being a very beautiful young woman, it is no surprise that Dorcas has been involved with several men, including some popular Nigerian entertainers. Details on this below.

Dorcas Shola Fapson Dated Skiibii

Dorcas dated Nigerian singer Skiibii. Their relationship got the media’s attention sometime in mid-2022 when they shared loved-up images on social media. However, the love lasted only a short period before they broke up around October 2022.

Following the messy split, the actress threw shades on the Sensima singer on Twitter. In the now-deleted post, she called Skiibii out for lacking basic amenities in his house while trying hard to live a fake life in public. She claimed that to have bought him the Fendi that he was known for flaunting online and also alleged that she was practically feeding and housing him while they were together.

In a leaked chat with a supposed friend, DSF called the singer a cheat and a liar. However, Skiibii did not respond to the allegations. Following their split, the former lovers unfollowed each other on social media.

She Allegedly Dated Wizkid

Back in 2018, there was news that the DJ was dating Wizkid. Rumours of the celebrities being a couple started circulating when various pictures of them together started making the rounds the media. One of the photos showed them in a boat and it was alleged that they were on a vacation for the 2018 New Year celebration.

Neither of them has ever confirmed whether or not they were romantically involved. While there are still notions that they dated, it is not out of place for celebrities to be romantically linked to others even when there is nothing beyond friendship.

Dorcas Shola Fapson’s Supposed Relationship with Timini Egbuson

Dorcas and Timini Egbuson have been very close friends who project themselves as best friends. There have been many pictures of them on social media and in 2021, she organized a surprise birthday party for him. This and many other things fueled the rumor that the Shuga co-stars may either be secretly dating or may be sleeping with each other.

However, Ms. DSF reported on social media that she was only best friends with the actor and nothing more. She also claimed that men were scared to approach her because of him.

In the post, she made it clear that people of the opposite sex can be best friends without having to sleep with each other. She also threw shades that people who don’t understand that a man and woman can be friends without sleeping together have no self-control.

Dorcas Shola Fapson Was Allegedly Raped by a Taxi Driver

The Castle & Castle actress reportedly passed through an alleged attempted rape and kidnap. On 25th January 2018, Fapson had an altercation with a Taxify driver (cab driver) who had picked her up at a designated point. Unfortunately, before reaching her destination, the tables turned. She claimed the driver tried to rape and kidnap her.

To defend herself, Dorcas sprayed a heavy dose of pepper spray all over the driver’s face and took off. The accused Taxify driver, Mr. Udeh Henry took the matter to court on the grounds of false accusation and defamation of name and character.

The driver sued Dorcas Fapson for N5 million for unjustly tarnishing his image by tagging him as a rapist and kidnapper to the public. The letter was served by his lawyers from the Chancellor Chambers in Victoria Island, Lagos.

The matter attracted the attention of the press, fans, and her colleagues like Adekunle Gold. Others trolled her story and refused to be sympathetic to the situation.
