One of Nigeria’s foremost Disk Jockeys, DJ Obi, has announced his intention to break the Guinness World Record for Longest DJ Set.
The current record for Longest DJ Set is 200 hours and was set on November 19, 2014, by Norbert Selmaj AKA Temple Bar in Dublin, Ireland.

DJ Obi plans to beat Norbert’s record and make history with a continuous 240-hour set. The record-breaking event will kick off today, June 22, 2016, by 10 p.m and will run through to July 1, 2016, making it a 10-day straight-up show.
“This is a dream that we’ve been working on for over eight months. It means a lot to me and there’s no better way to show the world that Nigerian DJs are a force.
“I’m excited the day to finally get started is here. Lagos, I need your love and support so please come through to Sao Café. And all my Nigerians please hit me up on social media. Let’s go!” he said.
The show, which is attracting more sponsorships from various brands by the day, will hold at Sao Café, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos. Obi Ajuonuma is an award-winning DJ, who has worked in both Nigeria, Los Angeles, and other countries around the globe.
He has diverse music catalog and is known for his versatile style of using the turntable. One of DJ Obi’s most recent works was done with singer Sean Tizzle in a song titled ‘Murder me,’ which was curled from his upcoming album project still titled ‘Murder me.’
