Dino Melaye Ready For EFCC’s Allegations
During the week, allegations had emerged against Senator Dino Melaye being behind a group of Senators who doled out cash bribes to stall Magu’s nomination.
On Wednesday, the Nigerian Senate had rejected Magu’s re-nomination as substantive chairman of the EFCC via a voice vote at plenary session.
This followed a letter from the Department of State Services (DSS) indicating that Mr. Magu had failed another integrity test.
The Chairman, Senate Committee on Federal Capital territory (FCT), Sen. Dino Melaye, had brought to the notice of Magu that the Senate on Tuesday received a letter from the DSS, stating that he failed the integrity test.
Responding, Magu affirmed that the allegations leveled against him were unfounded,.
He stressed that the DSS did not give him a fair hearing before writing to the Senate.
Senator Dino Melaye has been accused of bribing his colleagues in the Red Chambers to reject Ibrahim Magu’s confirmation.
According to a report from Sahara Reporters, Senator Dino Melaye and minority leader Senator Phillip Aduda, took it upon themselves to dole out bribes to ensure that the acting EFCC boss’ appointment is not confirmed.
