D’banj Launches Toke Makinwa’s Book With N1m


While some haters criticize Toke Makinwa on her new book ‘On Becoming,’ D’banj the Koko master  saw it worthy of his investment during its launch.

Following the book launch, which held on Sunday, 27th November, the controversial on-air personality and vlogger took to Instagram two days after, revealing that D’banj donated a million naira during her book launch and also has just redeemed it.

The tell-it-all book gives insightful details of Toke Makinwa’s life including her childhood, relationship with her ex-husband Maje Ayida, marriage scandal and on her journey to ‘becoming’ who she is today.

According to her, Maje made her lighten her skin because she felt he preferred ladies with lighter skin since the other woman, Anita Solomon, was fair in complexion.

He also lured her into making a sex tape, only for her to discover that he did same with Anita.

“I had been with Maje from when I was an immature teenager, through my twenties, and for most of those years, Anita had been the standard I had to live up to.

“I had lightened my skin at some point – Anita was half Lebanese and half Ibibio, and Maje made me feel like he preferred her lighter skin.”
