Chibok Girls Release: FG Assures Of Release Of More Chibok Girls As Promised

The Federal Government has assured of more Chibok girls release.

Giving the assurance on behalf of the Federal Government, Minister of Interior, Gen. Abdurrahman Danbazau,  expressed optimism that more of the Boko Haram-held Chibok girls would soon be released.

Danbazau on Friday stated that this will be done as promised by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress government.

Gen. Danbazau made the statement in Minna while speaking to newsmen at the wedding Fatiha of Halima Babangida, daughter of Former Head of State, Ibrahim Babangida.

The Interior Minister said:

“By the grace of God, I believe more of the girls will be released as promised by President Muhammadu Buhari.

“Before this administration came on board, not a single girl was released, but now, over 100 have been freed.”

Danbazau called on Nigerians to have confidence ‎in the ability of government to secure the release of the remaining school girls being held captive by the Boko Haram insurgents.

More Chibok Girls Release – FG

‎ The minister also disclosed that the Federal Government was doing its best to ensure security of lives and property across the country.

He added:

“We are trying our best to ensure maximum security of the country.

“Just yesterday, I met with the police chief and prominent traditional rulers across the country to discuss the way forward as regards security.”

Meanwhile, Gen Danbasau wished the couple a happy married life and advised them to tolerate each other.

On Friday, the Niger State capital, Minna erupted with pomp and pageantry as a result of the wedding ceremony.

Scores of notable personalities and government functionaries were in attendance.

On the guest list include former president Goodluck Jonathan, his wife, Patience Jonathan, as well as business moguls Alhaji Aliko Dangote. and Tony Elumelu.
