Burna Boy Performs in the UK For the First Time After Ban Was Lifted


Yesterday, 28th June, controversial Nigerian singer, Burna Boy was scheduled to perform in the United Kingdom for the first time in his music career.

In 201o, it was reported that the dancehall singer was arrested by the police for allegedly being a part of a gang and stabbing someone to death. He was tried as a minor and sent to jail.

After 11 months, he was released and given two months parole plus community service on the grounds of being of ‘good behaviour’.

However, he travelled back to Nigeria without permission from the UK authorities and was later signed a record deal with Aristocrat Records.

He later travelled back to the UK but was arrested at the airport, deported to Nigeria and barred from entering the UK for 15 years.

Fortunately, the ban was lifted in 2015 as the artiste hinted fans via a tweet. When newsmen from Thenetng contacted his management led by his mum, Bose Ogulu in November 2015, she said she won’t say anything about any ban. However, stated that he’s doing a UK tour in the second half of 2016; his first concert in the UK as Burna Boy.

Following the development, the singer was billed to perform as a first time act on a show last night in England. He arrived at Heathrow airport aboard an Arik flight from Lagos at 6pm yesterday and tweeted to that regard via his handle (@burnaboy) 2016

Having learnt from his previous experience, the Nigerian artiste is sure to be of good behaviour all through his stay in the UK and will definitely give his UK fans an eclectic performance to remember him by.
