President Buhari Reveals His Farm Life In Duara, Katsina State


President Muhammadu Buhari took to his Twitter page on Sunday to share what his leisure farm life looks like in his hometown, Duara, Katsina State.

The president arrived there in the early hours on Friday to spent the weekend in the town after his two-day official visit to Kano State.

Mr. Buhari is also scheduled to leave the town on Monday for a trip to France to participate in the ‘One Planet Summit.’ He expressed hope that Nigerians would be inspired to embrace farming, adding that his vision was to see Nigeria, under his leadership, “grow what its citizens eat.”

Buhari wrote,

“I’m spending a few days at home in Daura before I travel to France for the One Planet Summit.

“Today (Sunday), I paid a visit to my farm. I grow fruits and vegetables, and keep cattle. I hope this will inspire one more person to take up farming.

“My vision is for a country that grows what it eats.”

The President also hosted some northern senators, led by Katsina State Governor, Bello Masari, in a closed-door meeting. It was reported that the senators were said to be in the state for a retreat scheduled to hold on Tuesday and decided to visit Buhari who spent the weekend in his hometown after his two-day official visit. Senator Abdullahi Adamu also described the meeting with the President as a fruitful one.

According to one of the visiting senators, Kabiru Gaya, who spoke to reporters, they seized the opportunity of the meeting to discuss issues concerning good governance and national unity with the President.

Meanwhile, Buhari has not issued any statement on the meeting as of the time of filing this report.
