Buhari Appears: President Observes Jumaat Prayers At Aso Villa Mosque On Friday
After several week of no appearance and suspense, President Muhammadu Buhari appears, observes friday Jumaat prayer at Aso Villa mosque.
For several weeks now, the President has not been sighted or heard from in public.
Buhari showed up at the Villa mosque dressed in white flowing kaftan with a matching white cap.
President Buhari’s appearance at the mosque is expected to douse tense about his whereabouts which has been a cause for concern for weeks now.
Alongside other worshipers, President was seen waving and exchanging pleasantries.
As President Buhari appears at Jumaat this Friday, virtually no one had an idea he would appear in public, considering he had failed to worship at the Villa mosque twice.
Some prominent government officials were also in attendance at the Jumaat prayer with President Buhari at the mosque.
Buhari Appears At Friday Jumaat Prayers
They include: Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, National Security Adviser (NSA), Babagana Monguno and the Director-general of Department of State Services (DSS), Lawal Daura.
Others in attendance included the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, Acting Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu and the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Maikanti Baru.
As at Wednesday this week, the president had missed the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting three times in a row.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo was on hand representing President Buhari at these meetings.
As a result, Buhari’s absence sparked fresh concerns over his state of health as a whole.
President returned to the country on March 10, 2017 after an extended medical vacation in London.
During the week, Aisha Buhari, Wife of the President and First Lady posted on Twitter that her husband was not as sick as being perceived in some quarters.
