Bolaji Amusan started going by the name Mr. Latin after he acted in the 1993 film titled 50-50, produced by Akin Ogungbe. On the set of the movie, Bolaji spoke French, and Akin Ogungbe mistook it for Latin.
Generally for Akin, Bolaji simply speaks a bit of French language mixed with Latin when on set because that was exactly how they sound in his ears. Since then, Bolaji took up Mr. Latin as his stage name.
