Belinda Effah Hails From Calabar, Cross River State

Born on 14th December 1989, 34-year-old Belinda Effah came from a large polygamous family of fourteen children. She is a native of Calabar in Cross River State, Southern Nigeria but grew up in Port Harcourt, River state. Her father, Chief Asido Bassey Effah, was a commander in the Nigerian Navy. According to the actress, her father, who died in 2015, was a very stern disciplinarian and trained all his children in the culture of discipline. His burial had numerous top celebrities in attendance, including some of Belinda’s Nollywood colleagues.

Her mother, whose name is unknown, is still alive and healthy. Belinda threw a birthday party for her mom on her 60th birthday where some of her celebrity friends were also in attendance. Belinda started her nursery and primary school at Hillside International school and went further to a military secondary school, Nigerian Navy College, all in Port Harcourt. After that, she proceeded to the University of Calabar, where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Genetic and Biotechnology.

She Started Her Career As a TV Host in 2005

It is interesting to note that acting has always been Belinda’s passion right from her childhood days as she often wrote stories for her friends to read. Unknowingly to her, she was building herself up for a future in Nollywood. She also likes copying her sisters at home in whatever they were doing- a special skill that works perfectly for actors.

After her university education, Belinda first started her career as a TV host. Then, she made her first appearance in a popular TV series, Shallow Waters. While the show was still ongoing, she took a break and started auditioning for a role in a popular reality TV show, Next Movie Star. Belinda is a fast-growing actress who is very hard-working and does not relent in pursuit of success.

Belinda Effah Has a Son, But Who is Her Baby Daddy?

The TV presenter’s baby daddy’s identity remains a mystery. The only identification that could be given about him is that he is her sugar daddy based in the United States. Belinda has kept sealed lips towards who the father of her son is, and it seems she is not even ready to talk about it anytime soon.
