After the first ever season of Big Brother Naija in 2006, it took Endemol 11-years to bring back the show.
Kicking off on Sunday 22nd January 2017, the 12 Housemates on the most anticipated Big Brother Naija were introduced to the world as they entered the house, located in South Africa.

Hosted by Ebuka, the most popular housemate in the first season of Big Brother Naija, these housemates will be our TV companions for the next 11-weeks and are to entertain, inspire and educate viewers, while they battle for the star prize.
Big Brother Naija House
The contestants were carefully selected to make a blend of a half-dozen group of individuals representing different workforce, although majorly, entertainment, media, and arts.
Here are 12 things you should know about the 12 contestants of Big Brother Naija season 2:
Occupation – Statistician; Background – Middle child with two elder siblings and two younger ones, lives in Lagos, while his family stays in Abuja; Relationship status – has a busy Lawyer girlfriend who he hardly spends time with.
Occupation – Singer and Make-up artiste; Background – She was a spoilt child until she was 8-years old; sadly her family hit some major hurdles and she moved to rural Nigeria to live with her cousins; she came fifth in a reality singing competition.
Background – Half Orphan, have been in a good relationship with her brother since the death of their mother in 2001; Relationship status – have been unlucky with romantic relationships and used to be emotionally be all over the place; She is currently single and focusing on advancing her singing career.
A graduate of Economics, confident and easy-flowing, an attitude he hopes will help him win over Housemates’ plots: Recently moved to Lagos because it is “where it all happens’’ and is working his way up to earn recognition.
Occupation – Nollywood upcomer [featured in a few movies]; Schooled in Accra, returned to Lagos to make her dreams happen; Looks up to her mother for inspiration and has learnt to handle people with grace.
Occupation – Ship manager turned fitness entrepreneur [Port Harcourt’s most sought after personal trainer]. He trusts in converting hurt into motivation and uses his life to inspire self-care through sustainable agriculture and self-care.
Big Brother Naija Housemates
Background – 11th child out of 21 children, a royal daughter of her tribe Onne in Eleme; Studied Mass Communication and has never been in a physical fight. Relationship status: Single and her last relationship ended on due to lots of quarrels and long distance strain.
Background – Last child who learned how to cook by chance after so much time spent with his mother in the kitchen. Occupation – Head chef [ attended Culinary School]. Relationship status – In a two-month-old relationship with a female chef. Miyonse hates being taken for granted.
Background – Son of a Pastor and Musician, a singer himself. He was inspired by his mom who also encouraged him to pursue a career in Music. He’d started studying at Port Uni but decided to defer his studies and focus on Science when he resumes since he loves gadgets. He’s in a long-distance relationship.
Background – Had a hard time struggling with loneliness and making friends as a child. Has a blend of a very strict and tough dad and a soft-spoken mom. She studied at the University of Lagos for nine months before going to Romania to complete her studies. She’s an occasional drinker and has 7 tattoos and over 7 piercings.
Occupation – A Choreographer; ThinTallTony performed at the opening of BBNaija’s first edition and has since expanded into acting, writing, and poetry. He’s a self-confessed team player who believes in winning for all and celebrating good times.
Background – Born in Hammersmith, England, Uriel was sent to Nigeria soon after birth. She has four very diverse brothers ranging from serious business man to one that’s really cool, complete with hair and beads.
She’s spontaneous, passionate with a nurturing nature too! She loves to cook but hates cleaning up after cooking. She likes to think of herself as a master of organized mess!
