Controversial on-air personality, Toke Makinwa recently clocked 32, and to mark her birthday, she went on a journey of self-reinvention – On Becoming.
Earlier, Toke Makinwa hinted she had something up her sleeves. It’s actually a book which she titled “On becoming.” She unveiled the coming of the book on her birthday last week.
“It’s my Birthday today, apart from the fact that I am a big birthday girl; I love celebrating my birthdays, this year I have so much to celebrate. I started working on Project “On Becoming” a year ago and before I let you all in on the Big reveal, I would like to share with you, On Becoming Visuals.”
“To become, I must shed it all. To find my purpose, I must fast unravel,” she also says in the clip. “To restoration, I must lose myself. I am becoming,” she wrote.
Today, Toke Makinwa gave the news on her social media page, @tokstarr: “Guess who wrote a book? Meeeeeeee!!!!! Say hello to the latest author in town.” she wrote.
In the book, which is more like a memoir, fans get to meet the real Toke Makinwa, from bubbly child to lonely teenager after the devastating loss of both her parents and now one of Nigeria’s most successful media personalities.
On Becoming: Toke also breaks her silence on the marriage scandal and how it changed her life, finding forgiveness and strengthening her faith in God. “On Becoming” is Toke’s journey through pain to victory.
The book will be available from November 28, 2016, in bookstores across Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, United Kingdom and the United States.
