A former housemate of the 2017 Big Brother Naija reality show, Uriel Ngozi Oputa was hosted to a grand welcome home party in Imo state over the weekend.
BuzzNigeria recalls that after the BBNaija show wrapped up, Uriel had publicly lamented, expressing her desires to get a special homecoming event in her hometown, Imo State just like some of her fellow housemates had gotten.
Surprisingly, Uriel’s wish was granted this weekend, as the former housemate who is said to be related to Charlie Boy got a delightful welcome home party.
Joined by some of her fellow housemates Gifty, Kemen, Cocoice and ThinTallTony, Uriel made a grand visit to her hometown in Imo state and has shared photos from the event.
It was a wonder weekend for Uriel who was proudly received by the Igwe of Oguta in Imo State amidst cheers and merriment from her people.
The peak of the welcome party was when the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha surprised Uriel with an announcement during an event held at the Imo International Conference Centre, Owerri, by crowning her the Ambassador of the upcoming Imo State Carnival. After inviting Uriel on stage, Governor Okorocha said:
“Welcome back home and thank you very much for making us proud. God bless you.
“I hereby this morning, officially appoint you, for this pride you have done to us, the carnival ambassador. God bless you.”
The Imo carnival is a yearly event that was created to showcase the rich and beautiful cultural heritage of the people. During the carnival, participants dress in beautiful attires and parade the streets of Owerri. It also features fashion shows, exhibitions and music concerts.
The carnival which usually holds from December 16 to 31 every year, brings together Imo indigenes and other individuals from across Nigeria and globally.
Meanwhile, Tokunbo Idowu (popularly known as TBoss), the 2017 BBNaija second runner-up has spoken about her future plans, disclosing that she is now a ‘brand’.
Stressing that “TBoss is a brand now and cannot be seen everywhere”, the former housemate said she’s still making plans and cannot be seen everywhere to prove that she is working.
During an interview on Rubbin’ Minds (hosted by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu), TBoss also spoke about the controversial incident between her and housemate Kemen who was then disqualified, and the issues surrounding the situation.
She also stressed that if she had won the money she would have expended it all by now as she had a lot of things planned for it.
On Kemen’s sexual assault, TBoss said:
“The part that really hurt me most was that I considered Kemen a friend. He was my go to guy, he was my buddie, he was my muscle. He encouraged me, he motivated me, he pushed me to mingle with people….
“….I was angry, I was humiliated, and I did feel violated…. I honestly feel that the decision that Big Brother took, was the only decision that could have been taken.”
When asked if there is something she and Kemen know that the viewers do not know, she said:
“Kemen can say whatever he likes, but he knows what transpired that night.” She adds that she’s seen Kemen a few times and he has called her about 15-20 times but she does not want to talk to him. “I’m just not ready to talk him.”
She also described comedian AY as being ‘insensitive’ for joking about the incident.
On her future plans:
Tboss said the content for her radio show which she hopes to transfer to television is being developed, adding that she has received movie scripts and had gone for several casting.
More so, she adds that she wants to do a lot of things with women as she has been doing lots of charity work with children.
