Audu Maikori Detained Again: To Appear In Court On Monday

Chocolate City Records Boss, Audu Maikori has been detained again.

The record label Executive was rearrested in Abuja and is currently being held at the Gabasawa Police Station, Kaduna State.

Some reports allege that Audu is sharing the same cell with arrested herdsmen.

A source at the police station disclosed to newsmen that Maikori, who was arrested on Friday, would have been charged to court immediately.

However, the police have deliberately refused to commence the prosecution process.

According to the same source,  Audu’s family, friends and business associates have been barred from seeing him.

So far, efforts made to confirm whether or not Maikori is sharing same cell with herdsmen proved abortive.

Attempts at contacting the Kaduna Police Public Relations Officer, Aliyu Usman via telephone indicated that he was out of coverage area.

The Chocolate City boss is scheduled to appear in Court on Monday for trial.

The case, it was gathered, had been transferred to the Attorney General of Kaduna State.

Maikori Detained Again, Faces Trial On Monday

Maikori detained for the second time is being charged for incitement and sharing fake information.

A close associate of the embattled record company boss stated that Audu was in need of medical attention.

Audu Maikori Slumps

A few days ago, Audu had collapsed at the venue of an event which held at the Muson Centre in Lagos.

He was, however, resuscitated, but needed close monitoring.

Audu’s associate said:

“He needs to be with his doctors but he doesn’t have access to them where he is.

“However, a team is being set up to look into the matter and provide legal representation for him.”

Previously, governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai at a recent event had threatened to prosecute Audu for spreading falsehood.

The governor stated that he had no personal grouse with the entertainment mogul, but that the law had to take its course.
