The Chinese Super Cup is an annual final between the winners of Chinese Women’s Super League and Chinese Women’s Football Championship.
Dalian Quanjian completed a double by picking up the Chinese Women’s Super Cup title, having earlier won the 2017 Chinese Super League title.
The Super Cup title represents Oshoala’s second trophy at the club since she joined Dalian Quanjian in February 2017. She also emerged highest goal scorer in the league with 12 goals.
Oshoala rose to prominence at the 2014 FIFA U20 World Cup where she won the Golden Boot as the tournament’s highest goal scorer and the Golden Ball as the tournament’s best player.
The two-time CAF African Player of the year has previously featured for Liverpool Ladies and Arsenal Ladies in England. She became the first African player to compete Women Super League when she signed for Liverpool Ladies in 2015.
She was also part of the Nigerian Team, which won the African Women Championship in December.
Meanwhile, ahead of the inconsequential World Cup qualifying game against Algeria in Constantine on Friday, Nov. 10, Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr has revealed changes expected in his squad.
ADO Den Haag right-back, Tyronne Ebuehi, on-loan Standard Liege midfielder Uche Agbo and Hapoel Be’er Sheva forward Anthony Nwakaeme shall all find places in the starting lineup.
Rohr considers fielding fringe players for the dead robber game with the likes of on-loan Hull City defender Ola Aina; young Deportivo La Coruna goalkeeper Francis Uzoho; on-loan Anderlecht striker Henry Onyekuru, on-loan Girona forward Olarenwaju Kayode and Norway – based midfielder Chidiebere Nwakali all set to start.
According to the Franco-German coach, he would make six changes to the team that defeated the Zambian team last month in Uyo.
The 64 -year-old German also said his sights are fixed on Tuesday’s friendly against South American giants Argentina in Krasnodar, Russia. In a video posted on the Super Eagles’ official Twitter account, Rohr said:
“All the games are important, it’s right we have already qualified for the World Cup, so the result is not the most important.
“The most important thing in this game against Algeria is to have a good game and also get good results.
“It’s an opportunity for us to see other players who didn’t play because we had our players but now we have six injuries and at least I will make six changes for the game against Algeria and this is an opportunity to see these players who didn’t play so much and it will be interesting to play Algeria in this condition.
“They have a new coach (Rabah Madjer) and they are playing at home so they will be very aggressive.
“The second game against Argentina is against one of the best teams in the world, who perhaps have the best players. We will have one South American team in our group (at Russia 2018) and also our trip to Russia will enable us to see where we will camp for the World Cup.”
Russia-born right-back Brian Idowu is expected to join the team Krasnodar for the match against Argentina.
