Born as Atunyota Alleluya Akporobomerere, and popularly known as Ali Baba, the Niger Delta born stand-up comedian is the pioneer of Comedy in Nigeria.
The 50-year old king of comedy, aside building a brand with rib-cracking jokes, Ali Baba has turned his passion into a successful business, and is one person in the entertainment industry up-comers should look up to if they want to be on top of their game.
The graduate of Religious Studies & Philosophy at Bendel State University, Ekpoma now known as the Ambrose Ali University, recently shared his thoughts with aspiring Nigerian entertainers on how to be successful in the game. He used his Instagram page to share the fact that visibility helps to sustain the practitioners beyond the fees they earn, hence it’s important for showbiz practitioners to find out what it takes to be visible and stay visible. Here are Ali Baba tips for a successful career in showbiz:
1. Be Creative
You need to have creativity that can not be ignored. Hold your creativity so high in standards that even when you are hibernating the spiral effect is a constant reminder.
2. Use Social Media Platforms
Use all social media platforms that push your career. Be in people’s faces. Let them know you are still here kicking it. If they do not see you or hear from you often, they will forget you in a hurry.
3. Attend Events
Make sure you attend events to have network opportunities and brand visibility.
4. Dress To Kill
Many media houses are looking for content. Fashion sells and people want to know how you are looking today. Own red carpets! It’s free publicity, cheap publicity as well. Let your outfit make a statement that would last in people brain.
5. Get Photographed
Don’t miss an opportunity to be photographed with people that matter. Don’t wait till someone creates the photo opps. Do it! Snap With everyone that matters and put it up on your social media platforms.
6. Go Weird
