Popular Abuja Pastor Announces Resignation From House On The Rock During Church Service
A well-known Abuja-based Pastor with the House on the Rock Church, Pastor Goodheart Obi Ekwueme has resigned from the church.
Although his name might ring a bell, Pastor Goodheart has been a pastor with the House on the Rock in Abuja for the past 17 years.
Pastor Goodheart who he decided it was time to call it quits from the House on the Rock church, decided to do it by reading out a lengthy resignation letter to the entire congregation.
The pastor decided to move on from the House on the Rock Church founded by Pastor Paul Adefarasin.
In his four-page letter, Pastor Goodheart said:
“I began to pick up a most ‘unusual’ prompting from the Spirit of God, that my task and assignment under the umbrella of House on the Rock was coming to an end!
“Naturally – and again, my first reaction was a rejection of such thoughts, and a refusal to contemplate such ‘direction’.
“With my natural mind and logical thinking at the time, I assumed that such prompting could not be from God!
“But the nudging and prompting was persistent and impossible to deny.
“If I’ve learned anything in my walk with Him, it is in His voice and the LEADINGS and DEALINGS of the Holy Spirit.
“And so after two years of consistent prayer and waiting upon the Lord, as difficult as it was to finally embrace and accept that it was time for yet another “exit”.”

Pastor Ekwueme went on to state further that it was against this backdrop that he and his wife chose to courageously take the step of faith in obedience to God.
He said he had prayerfully sought the understanding and permission of his spiritual father to be released from the responsibility of pastoring the wonderful local assembly and church Family of The Refuge, House on the Rock and his other responsibilities within the Rock Foundation.
However, rumour has it that Pastor Ekwueme has already set up his own church, named Horn of Festival Ministry.
What is now left is to see how many of the members at the House on the Rock would follow him to his new church.
