“Will you match with 2Baba for a better Nigeria? As the whole nation look forward to the planned nationwide protest to Aso Rock, 2Face Idibia affirms the match with a call for Nigerians to step out in formation, adorn in green or touch of green as the dress code for the Monday, February 6, 2017 peaceful rally.
The Nigerian legendary artiste projected the idea via his Instagram page while encouraging all citizens; old and young alike to merge with his voice and gush their pain and sufferings for the lack of good governance marring the country for decades.
2Face also made some video speech on Instagram encouraging all man not to cower at this point in time when government need to hear the voices and cry of the people in other to make good things happen for Nigeria. 2Baba said:
“The need for urgent solutions to the challenges facing Nigeria has become very clear. People have hoped for a better Nigeria ever since I can remember, but things are not getting any better for the majority. We are still where we are – poor and desperate. I will no longer be quiet.”
Speaking on the purpose of the staged peaceful nationwide protest, He said:
“This match is about demanding that our leaders connects with all the people of Nigeria; that all saboteurs of good government policies should hands off; it’s about encouraging positive minded Nigerians, serious, hardworking, genuine and patriotic citizens to continue to work without intimidation.
“The problem of Nigeria is way beyond one man; way beyond the President. The problem of Nigeria is projected by some group of individuals who would become obstacles to the majority if things are not done their way.”
He urged politicians to strive and listen to the people without twisting the matter from one party to the other.
“This is not a platform for a politician from any party to manipulate,” the artiste continued.
“For once, leave your battles aside and try to listen to the people without trying to score a cheap political point.
“With all due respect to our comrades who have done much Nigeria, this is a match for the ‘unrepresented’.”
Idibia also calls for security measures during the match to protect the people despite the diversity – religion, tribe or ethnicity.
“There it is in every sense of humility that I say: with this nationwide match, we want to demand for security. All Nigerian life matters; my tribe, religion or part of the country where I leave should decide the type of security I get from my government.
“According to the constitution, the security and well fare of the people remains primary purpose of government.”

Meanwhile, there are recent contradictions tailing the artist efforts to influence a positive change in the system government in the country. Aside the professor who described 2Face as a bloody illiterate, another group known as the National Career Fair, NCF, backlash the music star for suddenly waking up from his slumber and declaring nationwide protest when he (2Face) never called attention to the killings of fishermen in his hometown, Benue State.
The group accused him of trying to score cheap publicity points in a process that sees him dropping a new record, but I bet NCF are up for mouth washing curses from audible Nigerians who have been waiting for a great opportunity like this nationwide protest, to vent their rage to the inertness of the APC lead administration led by President Muhammadu Buhari since assuming office in May, 2015.
Other popular artists and government leaders have pledged their full support towards the rally, hence any further slander pointing at his (2Face Innocent Idibia) flaws remains overruled.
