2Baba Bags Honorary Degree From Igbinedion University


Legendary singer, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as Tuface or 2baba, has been named among those who will receive a honorary degree from Igbinedion University in Okada, Edo state.

Tuface, would be honored with the degree at the school in an event scheduled for May 10, 2016. The elated singer announced this on his Instagram page and invited all to join in the celebrations;

“Ladies and gentlemen! I’m pleased to let you know that I’m going 2 be Conferred with an honorary degree @ Igbinedion University on the 10th of May in okada. You are all invited. #GRATEFUL #igbinedionuniversity Thank you for the honour.”

Just last month, the Legendary International RnB superstar, 2Baba, was announced as the brand ambassador for premium liqueur brand Campari.

The Benue State born prolific singer has since his musical career been wining series of awards, but this time, he’s going to receive an academic award.

Some of the awards he has won include: Channel O Music Video Awards, Soundcity Music Video Awards, MTV Africa Music Awards, BET Best International Act: Africa, ThisDay Awards (presented to him by the former U.S. President, Bill Clinton), World Music Awards, Black Heritage Awards for Excellence and Nigerian Music Awards among others.

Tuface, who is highly respected among Nigerian artistes in the music industry, started his career with the famous Kennis Music, and released his debut album, ‘’face2face’’ 12 years ago, in May 2004. That first album of the former Plantashun Boiz vocalist sold two million copies, making himself Africa’s bestselling act at the time.

Honorary awards by higher institutions are given to people based on their contributions to either the institution or the society at large. And with no doubt, 2face has contributed enough to the society, to Nigerians through his mouth parted songs and also through his orphanage home and many others.
