Years after the breakup between celebrity lovers, Iyanya and Ghollywood actress Yvonne Nelson, the Nigerian singer has finally revealed what led to the separation.
In a recent interview with The Nation, the ‘Hold On’ singer revealed that the love for money and fame was responsible for his split with Yvonne Nelson as both of them were too busy chasing their careers and had no time for each other.
According to Iyanya, money comes first and chasing money hindered him from keeping a solid relationship with Yvonne or anyone else.
Yvonne Nelson and Iyanya
“We broke up because we hardly had time for each other. “So, it’s like every time she flies from Ghana to Nigeria during that time I dropped Kukere, I was hustling and I would do four shows in a day and I will make 2million because I was a hustling boy and any call at any time I was going for it.
“So, I won’t say because I was in love with a woman, I’m going to see money and I’m going to lay back.”
At the time of the breakup, everyone saw Iyanya as the bad guy who broke Yvonne Nelson’s heart, but the truth remains ‘any hustling artiste who got a taste of what Iyanya had then would do the same thing – shelf love for later.’
However, love is not something money can buy cos the two celebs are yet to be in an intense relationship after their breakup.
Although Yvonne was rumored to be in an affair with Ghanaian actor, John Dumelo, the rumors died as fast as it rose.
The sensational singer, who was once signed to Ubi Franklin’s Tripple MG Label, made a swift move in late 2016 to Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records.
So far, he has been regaining the glory that was almost fading away with his recent singles released under the Mavin Dynasty, Hold Up and Up to Sumtin.
Certainly, Iyanya is all up for the pursuit of money and fame which may eventually bring him happiness.
With his good looks and well-chiseled muscles, Iyanya has quite a large following number on social media, most of which are women.
He is known for flaunting his body, which drives women crazy thus finding love and happiness may come easy for him after all.
The MTN West Africa Project Fame winner is also a brand ambassador of the cellular network giant, MTN and once signed a deal said to be worth a whopping $372,000 USD (N60 million Naira) with the company.
At the end chasing money pays!
