“You Have No Right To Insult The President” Okereke Tells Fani Kayode

Former presidential candidate of the African Liberation Party (ALP) Dr. Emmanuel Osita Okereke has expressed his concern over some criticisms made by former minister, Femi Fani-Kayode against President Mohammadu Buhari.

Mr. Okereke who is the director general of the National Task force to Combat Illegal Importation of Small Arms, Ammunition and Light Weapons, and the president of Importers Association of Nigeria (IAN) stated this in Enugu while addressing the press.

Condemning the actions of the former minister, Mr. Okereke said that Kayode should be aware that  “any attack on President Buhari is an attack directed to Nigerians since the president is a corporate personality,”

He also added that the former minister who had served in the government since 1999 to 2015 is not expected to directly insult the incumbent president as he (Kayode) did not efficiently play his role as the Minister of Culture and Tourism and as a Minister of aviation.

“Fani-Kayode has been involved in the government since 1999 to 2015 and somebody like him should not be talking. He was a minister of culture and tourism, and a minister for aviation. As a minister, Fani-Kayode could not renovate one single airport. Can he tell us this is his achievement as minister of aviation? Can he tell us this is his achievement as minister of culture and tourism?

“He was special adviser to Obasanjo. When he became the spokesman of the Jonathan campaign organization, what was his achievement? If he had capacity as a media person he would have found out the fault and the problem while Jonathan could not win the election. So I look at him as a failure,” Okereke said.

Mr. Okereke further added that the president could not be compared to him (Kayode) age wise and even in achievements. “President Buhari is not his mate and he never contested the same position with him. They had the power, they couldn’t manage the power and power has been given to someone else” he said.
