Waje Plans to Embark on a Four Year Music Holiday

While Nigerian President travels in and out of the country on short holidays, Nigerian singer, Aituaje Iruobe, known by her stage name, Waje, plans to do something similar – take a long break from music. Waje has been active in the Nigerian music industry since 2007, doing back ups and small gigs until her big break. After releasing a couple of amazing singles, the sexy diva with a sonorous voice is finally set to drop her debut album in September 2016.

According to an exclusive interview with The NET, Waje unveils her plans to go on a four year music break after the album drops. In her words, “It’s something I’ve been considering for a while and now I think after the album drops and I round up with all the tours and promo, I’ll go on break for about 4 years.”

The proud mother of newly-turned seventeen-year old Emerald Iruobe, says her reason for doing this is mainly because she wants to settle down, have more children and focus on a business idea that has been cooking up in her mind for a long while now. She also says she wants to start giving back to the society already by offering mentorship to a couple of young artistes.

Waje also talked about protecting her daughter from men and giving her guidelines on how to grow up into a responsible woman and make right decisions and choices, especially now that she just turned 17. The singer, who was once rumored to be in a romantic relationship with Rapper, M.I, said the collaboration on ‘One Naira’ she did with M.I was just a song with no strings attached. She further stated that M.I, from the onset, believed in her dreams even before she became very famous, although Waje didn’t state for sure if she ever had a fling with the rapper.
