Chelsea star Victor Moses has beaten the likes of Sergio Aguero and Gylfi Sigurdsson to win the PFA Fans’ Premier League Player of the Month award for November.

More than 40,000 votes were cast in the poll, which was held on the Sky Sports website and apps, with Moses claiming a landslide victory with 18,756 votes.

Swansea’s Sigurdsson came second with 7,791 votes, while Watford’s Nordin Amrabat was third with 5,378 votes. Rounding off the top six were Sunderland’s Victor Anichebe (3,642), Manchester City’s Aguero (3,457) and West Brom’s Matt Phillips (1,203)

The six candidates were chosen by Sky Sports expert panel, which included  pundits Peter Beagrie and Paul Merson, Mike Riley – general manager of the Professional Game Match Officials, and Malcolm Clarke – chairman of the Football Supporters’ Federation.

Victor Moses has flourished in a new wing-back role in Chelsea’s successful 3-4-3 formation which has seen the Blues climb to the top of the Premier League.

The Nigeria international, who is under contract until the summer of 2019, netted the winner in Saturday’s 2-1 London derby victory over Tottenham.

And reports say Moses’ performances have persuaded Chelsea technical director, Michael Emenalo to offer an extended, improved contract.

The deal will reportedly be offered to acknowledge his importance at Chelsea but also to ward off any potential interest from Barcelona. The Spanish giants are said to be determined to sign a right-back and expressed an interest in Moses.

The youngster’s journey at Chelsea didn’t start all pleasantly, as he became a forgotten man at Chelsea since his £9 million arrival from Wigan in 2012.

His first season at Stamford Bridge yielded 10 goals in 43 appearances, but Jose Mourinho took a different view to his predecessors Roberto Di Matteo and Rafael Benitez. For Moses, his appointment changed everything.

The next three years were spent on loan at Liverpool, Stoke City and West Ham. It was an unsettling period by anyone’s standards, and there was little evidence in his most recent spell away from Stamford Bridge to suggest his fortunes were about to change.
