On Thursday, 9th February, Google Communications and Public Affairs Manager, Anglophone West Africa, Taiwo Kola-Ogunlade, revealed the top news searched on google this week.
“The week starting from February 1 to February 8 could be described as quite sensational if one was to use the Google Trends as a measure as there were lots of searches and trending news in Nigeria.”

One of the most typed phrase on Google search for the week is Popular Nollywood filmmaker, Seun Egbegbe in relation to his alleged fraud.
Having being accused before for stealing nine iPhones at computer village, Nigerians were curious to read more about the kleptomaniac of a filmmaker.
Pretending to be a medical doctor, Seun Egbegbe was caught trying to defraud the BDC operator. This accusation was made just six days before his appearance in court for the phone theft in 2016.
Meanwhile, according to reports, Seun failed to show up at the court without giving any reason for his absence. Therefore, the case has been adjourned to April 12.
