The 2016 UEFA European Championship, commonly referred to as Euro 2016 will be the 15th edition of the tournament. A competition that will see the biggest and brightest football players in Europe battle for supremacy.

With the start of Euro 2016 barely hours away, expectations are high from some of Europe’s big name players.
Here’s a list of the top 10 players to look out for in this year’s competition.
10 Thomas Muller
The Germany striker has averaged three shots per game on his way to scoring 20 league goals to see his club-side, Bayern Munich retain their Bundesliga title last season.
The 26-year-old is one to watch out for in this years Euros.
9 Jamie Vardy
The England striker scored 24 times to help fire Leicester to a suprizing Premier League title win last season. His outstanding performance resulted in his being called-up to the Engish national team.

The Poland centre-forward scored 30 goals for Bayern Munich making him last season’s Bundesliga top scorer as well as the fifth highest scorer in any of Europe’s top five leagues.

7 Mesut Ozil
Mezut Osil of Germany has contributed the highest number of assists than anyone else in any of Europe’s top five leagues. The Arsenal midfielder scored 6 goals and recorded 19 assists last season.
Mesut Ozil won the World Cup with Germany in 2014. The 27-year-old is definitely one of the top players to watch out for.
6 Mousa Dembele
The Belgian midfielder and Tottenham player with excellent dribbling and passing abilities making him a pleasant spectacle.
Dembele scored 3 goals in 27 appearances for Tottenham last season and also scored 5 goals in 62 appearances for his national team.
5 Dimitri Payet
The French midfielder contributed 12 assists for West Ham last season, ranking third highest in the Premier League.
As a result of his impressive form in his debut campaign at Upton Park, the 29-year-old was recalled to the French team in March and may now start for the hosts at Euro 2016.
4 Paul Pogba
Juventus midfielder, Paul Pogba was the highest-ranked performer in Serie A last season after producing on average 3.5 shots per game and contributing 12 assists.
The 23-year-old Frenchman will play a key role in host France’s chances at the Euro 2016 this weekend.
3 Gareth Bale
The Real Madrid and Wales forward was rated the fourth best player in Europe by WhoScored last season.
Bale recorded an impressive 19 goals and 10 assists in the Spanish La Liga last season, while also helping Real win the UEFA Champions League for the 11th time in their history.
2 Cristiano Ronaldo
Portugese international and Real Madrid attacking henchman averaged more than 6.3 shots on goal per game in the La Liga last season topping the charts in Europe’s top five leagues.
Ronaldo also scored 51 goals in all competitions for the sixth campaign in a row for Real Madrid, the first player to ever achieve that feat.
1 Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Sweden’s captain, Zlatan Ibrahimovic who is reported to be on his way to new club Manchester United had a brilliant performance for his former side Paris Saint Germaine (PSG) in the Ligue 1.
The 34-year-old attempted an average of five shots per game in the league on his way to becoming the leading scorer in the French top flight with 38 goals, the second-highest total in any of Europe’s top five leagues.
He is certainly one player you don’t want to miss on the field of play at the Euros.
