The beautiful union of two people in love is best sealed by marriage. But Phyno, just like some other entertainers, is currently not in sync with the sacred idea of marriage.
In a recent interview, the 29-year old Enugu-born rapper plays down plans of getting married anytime soon. Phyno, who was on The Beat FM on May 17th, to talk about his second studio album titled “Phyno the Playmaker”, mentioned that his focus is on music at the moment and marriage is not part of his immediate plans. As a matter of fact, he bluntly admitted that he is currently married to his music – harsh truth.

When he was asked about plans to get married he said;
“I think Flavour is right about entertainers and marriage. Right to some extent and wrong to some extent. Depends on your wife. If your wife is jealous, she may not be able to handle it. For me, talking about marriage, when it happens it happens. I’m old enough to marry. But I’m married to the music right now.”
Phyno also commented on the ongoing baby mama jinx that is trending among entertainers. Almost all the popular Nigerian male artistes have baby mamas; from Tuface to Wizkid, Olamide, Ice Prince, Davido, Flavour, Timaya and now the newest baby dada in the block, Burna Boy. Although it is still uncertain if the pregnancy allegation instigated by one Uju Stella is real as Burna Boy has been taken unawares on the issue.
Phyno also noted that 90% of these artistes who have children before wedlock didn’t plan for it but when it happened they decided to take responsibility for their actions. “Your kid is your kid at the end of the day, whether you marry the mother or not,” he said. Phyno is most likely not going to end up like his colleagues who are single parents, and we hope he pulls through and eventually marries the right woman whenever he decides to settle down.
