The world’s most expensive footballer, Paul Pogba has admitted that he’s beginning to think Manchester United is ‘cursed’ following Sunday’s 1-1 draw with West Ham.
23-year-old Paul Pogba was present as Manchester United dropped points to West Ham over the weekend, to see their faltering Premier League campaign fail to gather momentum once more.
After going behind in the clash to an early goal, the Red Devils pulled themselves back into the tie at Old Trafford, dominating possession but failing to register a winner.
This fourth successive Premier League stalemate at Old Trafford has left Jose Mourinho’s side with just 20 points after 13 games — their worst ever start to a Premier League season.
The draw with the Hammers means the current campaign has seen Mourinho’s men record their worst start to a top-flight season for 27 years.
Speaking to SFR Sport, Pogba who signed to Manchester United for a world-record transfer fee in the summer said: “We’re going to start to think we’re cursed.
“We’re going to start to think we’re cursed. It doesn’t matter which team comes here, we dominate them, be it Arsenal or West Ham today. Our luck will change at one time or another, and it’s then that we’ll have to take it.
“I’m still confident because we create chances. It’ll come. I’m confident in my team. We just have to pay attention to the small details.
“Today we conceded a daft goal, against Arsenal, it was also the small details. I’m still confident, it’ll come right. We are dropping silly points, but it’ll come right.”
United are almost out of the title race already but remain just four points behind Tottenham in fifth place.
And former Juventus man Pogba, suspended for West Ham’s second visit to Old Trafford this week, though struggling to understand United’s misfortune, is sure the points will start to stack up.
