As the results of April 11 gubernatorial elections in Nigeria trickles in, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has gained more states in the several parts of the country, which were formerly controlled by the country’s ruling party.

In the final round of this year’s election process in the country, The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has lost Kaduna, Kastina and Benue states to the APC, thereby, giving the incoming opposition party more control of the states. The APC has also emerged victorious in Lagos State while the they lost Rivers State to the PDP.

Meanwhile, it was a different story in Imo State as the elections were declared inconclusive although the incumbent governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha emerged the winner after the collation. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the elections in the state “inconclusive” and cited its reason to be that the canceled votes (144,715 votes) was significantly higher than the margin (79,529 votes) between the APC’s Rochas Okorocha who won (385,671 votes) and the PDP candidate, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha who is second placed (306,142 votes).

All these follows the PDP’s defeat by the APC at the presidential polls a fortnight ago. With the results announced at press time, the APC won in 19 states which include Kaduna, Sokoto, Niger, Borno, Adamawa, Lagos, Kwara, Katsina, Bauchi, Kano, Yobe, Zamfara, Oyo, Ogun, Benue, Imo, Nasarawa, Jigawa and Benue and was leading in Plateau and Kebbi states while the PDP won in Akwa Ibom, Ebonyi, Gombe and Enugu and was coasting home to victory in Rivers, Delta and Taraba.

Listed below are some of the official results as declared by INEC so far.
