Nwankwo Kanu Shows Impressive Form, Scores Hat Trick In Charity Match


Former Nigerian skipper Nwankwo Kanu displayed impressive form today scoring a hat trick for Arsenal Legends.

The Nigerian striker was in impressive form as Arsenal comprehensively beat a Milan side 4-1. which featured the likes of Christian

Milan’s select team, Milan Glorie featured the likes of Christian Vieiri and Cafu.

The match was a charity game between Arsenal Legends – a crop of Arsenals best players in recent times – and Milan.

The charity match which was for Arsenal Foundation held at the Emirates Stadium.

A hat-trick from Nwankwo Kanu and a goal from Robert Pires gave Arsenal Legends a 4-1 win over Milan.

A mild drama played out on the field as the match was about to begin.

The Arsenal Legends attempted to start the game with 12 men.


Nigerian forward, Kanu didn’t realize he was on cue as a substitute for the game.

The 40-year-old legendary Nigerian skipper made up for his mistake, scoring a header from an Emmanuel Petit cross in the 27th minute.

Five minutes before half-time, Christian Vieri scored the equalizer for Milan.

Vieri’s goal came off a rebound from a saved penalty by goalie David Seaman.

Nwankwo Kanu Impresses Arsenal Fans

Kanu scored again in the 72nd minute.

Robert Pires, Freddie Ljungberg and Kolo Toure all featured for Arsenal Legends.

Coaches Arsene Wenger and Fabio Capello took charge of the respective teams.

The match is expected to raise £1 million for the Arsenal Foundation’s mission to build pitches for children in London, Jordan and Somalia.

Nwankwo Kanu fondly called “Papillo” is one of Nigeria’s most celebrated football stars.

Kanu is a retired Nigerian footballer, and was a member of and also captain of the Super Eagles for 16 years from 1994-2010.
