Former Head of State, General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, has squashed rumours of his being dead making the rounds across the media recently.
The former military ruler made the revelation this evening (8th June) while speaking to journalists on a Television show, Journalists’ Hangout on Television Continental (TVC).
Rumours that the former Head of State, Babangida was dead went viral in his home town, Minna, Niger state, and quickly spread across Nigeria a few days ago.
Many believed that the Ex Military President had actually passed on.

Babangida took the opportunity in the interview he granted to TVC to debunk the rumours, promising to return back to the country soon.
Speaking from Germany where he is presently receiving treatment, Ibrahim Babangida affirmed that he is very much alive.
Speaking with the presenter on the programme, ‘Journalist Hangout,’ the former Military Head of State disclosed that he is hail and hearty and not dead was being rumoured.
He told Babajide Otitoju of the TVC that he would return to Nigeria soon.
Ibrahim Babangida had taken ill a few weeks ago and had been flown to Germany for treatment.
The veteran politician and ex military general is said to be recovering after a corrective surgery recently as a result of a neurological condition affecting his spinal nerve root.
The disease known as radiculopathy had affected one of the legs of the general, causing him to use a walking stick.
In the mean time, President Muhammadu Buhari is currently in London receiving treatment from an ear infection.
Though reports say the actual reason for the president’s trip is to negotiate with militant group, Niger Delta Avengers.
The president is expected back in the country on June 16.
