Nollywood actress, Monalisa Chinda is set to re-marry. The beautiful actress was was formerly married to Segun Dejo-Richard but divorced in 2009 over allegations of domestic violence. They had a child together, a 7-year old daughter.
According to Pulse.ng, a reliable source has revealed that Monalisa will be getting married this month to Victor Ola-Coker who hails from the Niger Delta region and that the traditional marriage will hold this February while the white wedding will be held in Greece later in the year (May 2016).
The 41-year old actress reportedly admitted last year during an interview with Punch, that it was not easy being a single mother.
According to her:
“Motherhood has been very lovely but being a single mother has been very challenging. There is a huge difference between being a mother and being a single mom. When you are a single mom, you have to do everything yourself, you have to be the mother, father, driver, teacher, name it.
“If you don’t have a help, you have to switch on the generator, drop and pick the child from school; it is crazy. You have to help her with her homework and if I have to travel, I would have to bribe my secretary to stay in my house for some nights so that she can help my daughter with her homework.”
Monalisa Chinda was born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State to an Ikwerre father and an Igbo mother. She is the first born in a family of four daughters and two sons. A graduate of Theatre Arts of the University of Port-Harcourt.
Her rise to stardom began in 2007 when she starred in the television soap opera, Heaven’s Gate. In 2012, Monalisa became one of the first of four Nollywood actors to be featured on the cover of Hollywood Weekly Magazine.
Monalisa launched a TV show last year called “You and I with Monalisa.” The show was created to address pressing and trending social issues in the most refreshing perspectives.
