Today is the International No Bra Day!
On this day (13th of October) females around the world are obliged to mark the day by spending the entire day without wearing a bra.
Ladies are on this day encouraged to go bra-less in order to allow their boobs suck in oxygen.
The No Bra Day was introduced by scientists who confirmed that spending a day or two bra-less can save ladies from catching breast cancer.
The whole of October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, with October 14th also being the “Big Pink”.
One thing most women desire after a long day is to fall into bed without putting on a bra.
The myth exists that says wearing a bra to bed will make your breasts perkier.
However, recent facts and research have shown that taking off your bra at night can make a significant difference on your health.
It should also be noted that an ill-fitting bra is the main cause of trouble.
Reasons being that a majority of women wear bras that are too tight, thereby causing the problems associated with sleeping in a bra.
It is always better to be safe than sorry and sleep without one.
Here are 5 reasons why you shouldn’t wear a bra tonight:
1. Blood Circulation
When a lady sleeps with a bra o, one of the main things that suffers is blood circulation.
This is more so if the bra is underwire.
If the wire is too tight against your skin, your pectoral muscles will be constricted, affecting the circulation of nerves in your arms.
Also, a bra with tight compression like a sports bra can hurt breast tissue if worn too often because of constantly restricted circulation.
2. Skin Irritation
Another significant side-effect of wearing a bra to bed is skin irritation.
The bra hooks could protrude into your skin, as well as the straps, which can actually cause lesions or even cysts if left for too long.
You may not even notice the slight pain during the night.
The skin irritatuon described above might also cause restlessness due to the slight irritation preventing deep sleep.
This can also occur due to straps and hooks that are too tight and in constant contact with the skin.
This is what causes the area under the bra to become either darker or lighter than the rest of your body.

5. Breast fungus
Breast fungus is another condition caused by constantly wearing a bra to bed.
The warm and moist environment underneath your bra could become a breeding ground for fungi.
As a lot of women spend most of their lives wearing a bra, they could very easily develop breast fungus.
A simple step of removing the bra at night could greatly reduce your chances of allowing fungi to grow.
Having said these, the No Bra Day is particularly significant as women are enlightened on issues around breast cancer and the overall health of their breasts.
Aside from wearing rightly fitting bras, it is always better to be on the safe side and let your skin breathe for part of the day.
Going without a bra at night is sure better than risking poor circulation, skin irritations, restlessness, hyperpigmentation and breast fungus.
