Career Break

There is no recorded work of Mercy Johnson in 2009. Also between 2013 and 2015, she was less seen on set as she went on maternal leave to cater for her  family. However, she maintained her public figure by attending events and sharing pictures of her family on major social network platforms, prior to her come back.

Amidst the peak of her career, Mercy Johnson received several bad-mouthing from fans and industry colleagues, who alleged her of using her curvaceous body to attract movie roles. In 2011, she was accused of ‘snatching’ another woman’s husband, as a lady called Lovely Okojie went public with the claim that she was legally married to Prince Odianosen Okojie.

This revelation almost placed Mercy’s marriage plans on hold. However, Prince cleared the air by saying, his relationship with the said lady ended a year before he met Mercy Johnson, and even though he has children by his ex-wife, he is no longer bound to her legally.
