DJ Cuppy is an international DJ and producer who rose to prominence in Nigeria in 2014.
Born Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola to Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola and his wife, Nana Otedola on November 11 1992, Cuppy is the second child and second daughter out of four children. Her other siblings are Olawunmi Christie, Prince Fewa and Temi Otedola.
Cuppy had her elementary education in Lagos. Then she moved to the United Kingdom for her GSCEs and A’ levels. The 23-year-old studied Business and Economics at Kings College, London, where she graduated from in 2014.
During her college years, Cuppy became known for her DJing skills and was sought after to perform at clubs and events places in London.
She is currently studying Music Business in New York, USA, interning at Jay-Z’s Roc Nation headquarters where she is getting firsthand experience on how the international music industry works.
The name ‘Cuppy’ was born out of her love for cupcakes—red velvet to be precise. In fact, her record label is aptly named Red Velvet music group.

DJ Cuppy was the official DJ at president Buhari’s inauguration, which happened in May 2015.
She also launched her mixtape in 2014 titled House of Cuppy. On her mixtape she featured lots of Nigerian as well as international songs, including that of Tiwa Savage, Kcee, Naeto C, Dr Sid, Alexandra Burke, Chidinma, Wizkid, Illbliss and Suspect. The mixtape launch was held in Victoria Island, Lagos and was exclusively by invitation. It had an even grander launch in London with a French theme that saw attendees dressed in outfits from the classical era. The London launch was also in celebration of her graduation from College.
She launched her second mixtape the following year was titled House of Cuppy2. It had a star-studded launch in Lagos like the first and featured songs of Olamide, Seyi Shay, AKA, P-Square, Yemi Alade and others.
She went on her first tour in 2015 called The Cuppy Takes Africa Tour.
In 2014 DJ Cuppy was branded a Nigerian tourism ambassador by the Nigerian Minister of Culture and Tourism as part of the “Fascinating Nigeria” initiative, a brand created in the same year to boost the tourism sector in Nigeria.
Cuppy, as well as her younger sister Temi, were featured in a British Documentary titled Lagos To London: Britain’s New Super Rich. The documentary showed the expensive lifestyle and tastes of both sisters and their journey to live outside their dad’s shadow.

DJ Cuppy speaks French, and aims to make the Forbes 30 under-30 rich list. She started DJing at the age of 16 and thinks Lagos is the best city in the world. She is rumoured to be dating Nigerian footballer Victor Anichebe.
