Chris Attoh

Chris Attoh is a Ghanaian film and TV show actor who is as well known in the neighboring Nollywood (Nigerian movie industry) as he is in actual home country industry, Ghollywood, if not even more so.

He has blazed an enviable number of screens, giving superb performances for the most part and as such has taken a place comfortably at the head of the movie industries across both countries.

Chris Attoh was born Christopher Keith Nii Attoh but his stage name of Chris Attoh is more commonly used. He attended Achimota School and Accra Academy for his O’level and A’Level respectively. He then went on to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology to study painting. He also studied Banking and security in the UK later on.

His degree in banking and security has no doubt enabled him to be a rather effective hand at investing. So beside his acting and MC chops, Chris Attoh is also the CEO of ‘A Factory Limited’, a media and television development company with headquarters at Dzorwulu Accra.

Chris Attoh is an established actor, filmaker, TV host and MC. His passion for showbiz led to his work on Ghana’s top radio stations as a radio presenter and as a television broadcaster for majority of Ghana’s biggest broadcasting platforms.

Chris Attoh’s acting career began after he starred in TV show ‘Choices’. He however shot up in popularity after his stint on the set of Tinsel as Kwame Mensah, the often underhanded younger brother of Brenda Mensah. He delivered a powerful, if detestable performance every time he appeared on the show and soon secured fans all around Africa.

He was to make another such promising appearance on a TV show in MTV’s Shuga which focuses on spreading awareness of HIV/AIDs in Africa. When MTV Shuga came to Nigeria and Ghana for season 3 and 4, his character on Shuga, Nii, was an immediate hit as a manipulative woman beater, who appeared as a simple, intelligent man to the outside world

He has also featured in numerous big budget or other more modest movies inclusive of, ‘Flower Girl’, ‘Be My Guest’, ‘Single and Married’, ‘Oxford Garden’ and many others.

Chris Attoh was a nominee for AMVC Awards 2014, he won the Mode Men Actor of the year 2012 and NEA Pan African Actor of the year 2011. He has become a celebrated household name in many parts of the world with almost 15 years’ experience under his belt.

Chris Attoh is currently married to former Tinsel and Flower Girl co-star Damilola Adegbite and together they have a son. Their courtship (which was mostly private and well-hidden), public engagement and wedding were fitting of stars, as big as the two have come to be.

He frequently shows his undying love and support for his wife and they are both frequently spotted together on Red Carpets and other casual outings.
